"MAJOR BANG proves that laughter in the dark need not be desperate... a solid defense in dealing with a mad world. This Foundry production is surely the happiest show to have been inspired by the horrors of 9/11."
"Cuiffo and Hoffman bring to mind the improv of Nichols and May."
The New York Times

"MAJOR BANG terrorizes terror itself" TimeOut New York

"MAJOR BANG never shies away from how scared we actually are. Still, laughing at atrocity is this show's raison d'etre." The New York Sun

MAJOR BANG
or:
How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love The Dirty Bomb

A Suspense Comedy With Magic

Written by KIRK LYNN
Directed by PAUL LAZAR
Performed by STEVE CUIFFO
and MAGGIE HOFFMAN

Sprung from the contents of a backpack left on the subway comes this off-kilter meditation on our new era of global (in)security. MAJOR BANG samples Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove and mixes in the true story of David Hahn, a boy scout who built a nuclear reactor in his parents' garage to earn an Atomic Energy Badge. Along the way conjures up an over-caffeinated dad, a seductive food irradiation executive, a deranged scoutmaster, and a love affair doomed for nuclear disaster. Part magic act, part suspense comedy, part instructional seminar, MAJOR BANG is a 75-minute ride through 21st century concepts of fear- both real and imagined.

Brought to you by the collaborative talents of Actor/Magician Steve Cuiffo, Playwright Kirk Lynn ( Rude Mechs of Austin, TX), Director Paul Lazar ( Big Dance Theater), and Performer Maggie Hoffman (Radiohole).
