About the Performance
The MYOPIA, is a comedy about Febus, struggling to finish his play about Warren G. Harding that his son Barclay is secretly adapting into a musical featuring his grandmother Yetti, his mother, a Jewish Rapunzel named Koreen, Mrs. Harding,  and the 16 U.S. Senators in a smoke-filled room.   Meanwhile, this entire cavalcade is being performed by one character, the Raconteur for the evening, who in turn is performed by the inimitable David Greenspan - who both wrote and performs this play -- from a single armchair on a bare stage.

THE MYOPIA is a an hilarious Escher painting of a play, an interlocking puzzle of family drama, Broadway musical, history play, burlesque show and Expressionist nightmare that passionately celebrates the remarkable power of imagination in us all.

Performed weekends in a DOUBLE FEATURE with PLAYS by Gertrude Stein
On Saturdays and Sundays Greenspan will perform a double feature of the MYOPIA with PLAYS, Gertrude Stein's whimsical, irreverent and rarely seen lecture on theater.  This is a hidden gem of theatricality and wit that only Stein could have delivered - that is until David Greenspan came along.

"Mr. Greenspan is one of the most stylized wits on the Off Broadway stage."  NYTimes

"David Greenspan is probably all-around the most talented theater artist of my generation."
Tony Kushner
